About Stephanie

I’m excited to announce my candidacy for Aspen Peaks School Board, Seat 7. This decision is deeply rooted in my lifelong belief in the power of public education and a commitment to ensuring that every child has access to the best educational foundation possible.

With the formation of our new school district, we stand at the threshold of an exciting opportunity—a New Chapter. We have a rare chance to build something exceptional by honoring what we’ve learned from the past while boldly embracing the future. At the heart of this vision are students, supported by dedicated educators, engaged families, and a community that believes in their potential.

A Deep Local Connection

My family and I have called the Highland/American Fork area home for over 30 years. I’ve watched my children and now my grandchildren thrive in our local schools, and I care deeply about the future of education in this community.

A Strong Educational Background

I hold a B.A. and MLS from Brigham Young University, and a Doctorate in Education from Utah State University. My academic path reflects a lifelong passion for learning, literacy, and educational leadership.

A Career Devoted to Education

For over 20 years, I served in the Alpine School District, including 16 wonderful years at American Fork Junior High, where I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year. My experience includes roles as an English teacher, school librarian, and district coordinator for School Libraries and Instructional Media.

At the university level, I’ve taught education and library science courses at San Jose State University and currently serve as a graduate-level instructor at Utah State University.

I’ve also had the privilege of serving as a legislative advocate for the Utah School Library Association, championing school libraries and instructional resources statewide. I was honored as the Utah School Library Association’s Administrator of the Year for my work in this field.

Why I'm Running

I have both the passion and the time to serve our community as we build our new district. I bring a wealth of experience, a deep love for this community, and a belief that strong public education is the bedrock of our future. I am committed to thoughtful, collaborative leadership that places students at the center of every decision.

Let’s dream big. Let’s work together. Let’s build something great for our children.
