ALL IN FOR ASPEN PEAKS
I'm Stephanie Jones, running for Aspen Peaks School Board, Seat 7. With decades of experience in public education and deep roots in our community, I'm ready to help build a strong new district that puts our students first.
Why I’m Running
With the creation of our new school district, we have a once-in-a-generation change to build something better—with families, educators, and students at the center. This work matters. Our kids deserve strong schools and big dreams. I’m ready to help lead the way.
I’m running for the Aspen Peaks School Board because I CARE. I care about
Public Education
I believe public education is the foundation of our democracy. It shapes lives, strengthens communities, and prepares students with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive.
Students
Every child deserves a safe, inclusive, and inspiring place to learn and grow. Each student deserves access to programs and resources that meet their unique needs and strengths.
Teachers
Teachers work hard and care deeply. They should have fair compensation, access to resources, and a meaningful voice in decisions that impact their classrooms.
Parents & Families
Parents entrust their children to educators. They can expect transparency, partnership, and a voice in their children’s education.
Our Community
Strong schools build strong communities. Schools bring neighbors together, rally support for student success, and give us all something to cheer for.
Fiscal Responsibility
I care about how our resources are managed. As stewards of public funds, we must ensure that budgets are transparent, responsibly planned, and aligned with the needs of students and the priorities of our community.
I am a wife, mother, and grandmother.
My greatest joy—and responsibility—is my family. All three of my children attended schools in the Alpine School District, and I have eight grandchildren (with one more on the way) who will attend schools in one of the new districts. I’m committed to continuing the tradition of excellence found in Alpine, ensuring that my grandchildren—and all children—have access to outstanding educational experiences.
I am a long-time community member.
I’ve lived in the American Fork area for more than 30 years. This is my home, and I care deeply about the future of our schools and our neighborhoods.
I am an educator.
Education has been the focus of my life and career. I earned a degree in education with a secondary teaching certificate, as well as endorsements in reading and library media. I hold a Master’s in Library Science and a doctorate in Education. Over the past 30+ years, I’ve worked in three school districts and taught at two universities. I’ve worked as a classroom teacher, librarian, district coordinator, and university faculty member.
I am an advocate.
I’m a strong advocate for public education. I’ve supported programs that benefit students and worked alongside others to promote policies that strengthen our schools. I’ve represented students, schools, and libraries on Capitol Hill and have engaged directly with legislators to advocate for educational priorities.
